# Installing Amino as a Progressive Web App (PWA)

[Progressive Web Apps](https://web.dev/progressive-web-apps/) (or PWAs) are an exciting development in browser technology that extends web applications by making them installable as a standalone experience on any platform using a single codebase. This document demonstrates how to install Amino as a PWA using Chrome for Mac, but the same process can be used to install Amino as a PWA on other platforms.

Follow these easy steps to install.

**Click the Install button on your browser toolbar, click Install:**

The application will then open in a standalone window:

You will also find the application in the (MacOS) Dock:

You can also locate the Amino PWA through the (MacOS) Spotlight search:

That's it! Those are the basics of how to install and run the Amino PWA.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.amino.dev/guides/installing-amino-as-a-progressive-web-app-pwa.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
